Wanda attended Monroe College in New York and has post-graduate managerial training from St. Petersburg. Having worked in dentistry for two decades, Wanda says that helping people never gets old. She stays very busy at the office overseeing every aspect of Midtown Dental’s administrative functions. Wanda says her job is most rewarding when she helps patients and her co-workers achieve their goals. She says the overall flow of the practice, the compassion everyone has for one another, and the special team makes Midtown Dental so unique. Wanda is organized, supportive, a hard worker, friendly, caring, dedicated, and responsible. She regularly volunteers with her son’s school and at church. Wanda is usually spending quality time with her family when she’s not in the office.
Melody attended Ferris State College, Florida Southern, and South Florida earning her dental credentials. She has over 30 years experience working in dentistry and has been with Dr. Nerestant for almost 20 years. She likes helping patients learn about oral health, what it takes to have healthy gums, and the best ways to care for their teeth at home. Melody loves getting to know her family of dental clients, the fun and friendly office atmosphere, and making people healthy. If she wasn’t working in dentistry, Melody says she’d probably be an executive at Southern Wine & Spirits. She also says that the five words that describe her best are wine, wine, wine, wine, and wine. Outside of the office, Melody volunteers with the SPCA, American Cancer Society, and First United Methodist Church. She enjoys working out, walking, hosting wine events, hanging out with friends, traveling, and making jewelry.
Betzi is a dental assistant and implant coordinator. She has over 20 years experience in the dental field. Betzi loves interacting with the patients, getting to know them and she feels like part of the family at Midtown Dental. She looks forward to taking cruises to the Caribbean and is the proud mom of three children.
Kim has an associate’s in both dental hygiene and applied science from South Florida State College. She also earned a bachelor’s in communication from the University of Kentucky. She’s been working in dentistry for almost twenty years and has been with Midtown Dental for over a decade. She credits her own personal experience with dental health care for pushing her to pursue a career as a registered dental hygienist. She strives every day to give her patients the best experience that’s personal, professional, and always friendly. Kim says Midtown Dental is unique because of the team’s compassion and commitment to giving back with the annual Free Dental Day to people in need. Kim is competitive, disciplined, compassionate, fun, and spiritual. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and family, vacationing, caring for her animals, playing piano, exercising, helping the elderly, and doing yard work.
Brenda has been in dentistry for 18 yrs and loves it with a passion. She loves to see the look on our patients face after they have had a smile makeover. Brenda loves meeting and interacting with people on a daily basis. When Brenda is not at the office she enjoys spending time with her family and absolutely loves to go shopping!
Kia brings over 30 years of dental care experience to the Midtown Dental team, having worked in hygiene for nearly two decades. She’s certified in local anesthesia administration from St. Pete College. She enjoys helping patients achieve optimal oral health and showing them the best way to care for their smiles at home. Kia loves being part of the awesome team of caring people at Midtown Dental who make it easy to form lasting connections with one another and with our ever-growing family of patients. She’s excited to be going back to school to pursue a bachelors in applied science/public health care. Kia is honest, humorous, compassionate, kind, and loving. She volunteers her time outside of the office to do personal training with veterans who have traumatic brain injuries. She also loves paddleboarding, lifting weights, boxing, and spending time with friends and family.
When you call the office, you can always know you’re in good hands if you end up speaking with Ruth. She’s usually busy helping new patients schedule appointments, answering the phones, and redirecting calls to the right person. Ruth says she’s always wanted to work in an office setting and that she enjoys the administrative part of her work. You’d most likely find her working in a call center if she wasn’t involved in dentistry. Ruth thinks Midtown Dental is unique and different from other dental offices because of the diversity of the entire team and their many wonderful personalities. She’s funny, lovable, reliable, positive, and optimistic. Outside of the office, Ruth enjoys catching up on her sleep, eating good food, and Kompa dancing.
Lexy is always ready to welcome you to the office! She stays extremely busy in her role as a receptionist and scheduling coordinator. Lexy helps out a lot by checking in/out patients, helping them prepare for an upcoming appointment, answering the phones, making sure the office runs smoothly, and ensuring everyone has what they need to get the job done. Lexy will probably tell you that she loves what she does for so many reasons including helping and meeting new people, working alongside a great team who’s committed to a genuine doctor/patient interaction, and just feeling like she’s part of a big extended dental family. She is dependable, organized, loyal, and easy going. Outside of the office, Lexy says she loves to read, eat delicious foods, and then reluctantly hit the gym.
Gianna – Midtown Dental
Like or follow us on social media? Like our posts? You have Gianna to thank for that. She manages our social media accounts, coordinates both office and patient events, oversees the call center, designs ads and promos, and is the all-around “office cheerleader.” She loves making a difference in the community and seeing how confident people become when they leave the office. Gianna says if she weren’t doing the job she loves, she’d probably be a stay at home dog mom. She’s a proud member of the Midtown Dental family and says she enjoys working alongside a fantastic team and doctors who care about giving back to the community. Gianna says the office goes above and beyond to show appreciation for patients and coworkers by celebrating birthdays. Gianna is determined, a hard worker, an honest team player, and a self-proclaimed mermaid. She stays busy at home planning her wedding, attending Tampa Bay Lightning games as a season ticket holder, watching new shows on Netflix, and spending time with her fur baby and fiance.
Austin helps out around the office in so many different ways. You might see him assisting the doctors with various dental procedures, setting up and breaking down the operatories, helping patient’s coordinate their future dental visits, and working in the lab to ensure precision care for our patients in every way possible. What does Austin love most about the work that he does? He’ll tell you he’s most satisfied by being able to help people from various backgrounds. He said it’s exciting to be a part of the Midtown Dental team because everyone goes out of their way to take extra special care of people, always paying close attention to details with a dedication to cultural diversity. Austin says he chose a career in dentistry because it gives him the opportunity to change someone’s smile and their life. You’ll find that Austin is fun, outgoing, friendly, positive, and compassionate. Outside of the office, Austin volunteers with the Caribbean Community Association, spends quality time with his family, and tries to enjoy life to the fullest.
Kelly attended dental assisting school and earned a radiology certification in Pennsylvania. She later went on to St. Petersburg where she received her expanded functions distinction. Fast forward to today, and Kelly has over two decades of dental experience under her belt. When you visit Midtown Dental, you’ll find Kelly assisting with planning affordable treatment plans for our patients, assisting with financing, and providing valuable patient education. Kelly says dentistry was a good career fit for her because of how much she loves helping people. She’s rewarded by the work she does and enjoys getting to know patients and working alongside a talented team. Kelly also has over 25 years of retail management and sales skills, helping her to approach her position with Midtown Dental with compassion. Kelly is loving, sincere, compassionate, caring, and lots of fun. Kelly volunteers at church and helps feed the homeless. She’s originally from PA and has two grown children (a son and a daughter). Kelly loves going to the beach, fishing, spending time with both her regular and church families.
Misty received her training and education at Polk State College. She’s one of the best when you come to the office or call with questions about how to pay for your dental treatments and procedures. Misty knows about all things related to verifying your insurance, handling essential claims, and answering financial inquiries. She’s proud to work at Midtown Dental because of the people she works with, her bosses, excellent patient care, and how much they give back to the community. She used to work in retail management but made the switch to dentistry because Misty felt her knowledge and skill were put to better use by helping to change people’s lives. She follows the motto, “Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Misty is lighthearted, compassionate, friendly, conscientious, and a self-proclaimed unicorn. Outside of work, Misty loves spending time with family and kids, going to soccer games, watching movies, and attending community theater. She’s also the proud mom of a UNF osprey, an LG Brave, and a Harrison theater student.
Renelle is our Scan Tech, which means he’s probably the best person to ask when you’re having trouble with your smartphone. A graduate of Wesley Chapel High School and Pasco-Hernando State College, he’s a huge sports fan and a history buff. He also loves to cook, has a dog named Miley, and volunteers at a Balling for Jesus annual charity event. Basically, he’s probably the coolest person you’ll find within a ten-mile radius.
Kendra loved going to the dentist so much when she was little that it pushed her to pursue a career in dentistry, and we’re glad she did. As a dental assistant, she’s busy helping prepare for procedures, making sure the doctor has the right tools for treatment and making sure patients are always comfortable. Kendra loves meeting new people every day and getting to know them and hear about their smile goals. When you meet her, you’ll quickly find that she’s laid back and quiet. When Kendra isn’t working she’s usually trying new foods (she’ll tell you she loves to eat), playing with her dog Harlee, and spending time with her family.
Laura has been working in dentistry for seven years following her graduation from Edison State College in Fort Myers. Laura loved getting her teeth cleaned so much when she was younger. Mel, one of our certified registered dental hygienists, was the one who cleaned Laura’s teeth and sparked her interested in dental health care. Now, Laura is a great dental hygienist and loves helping patients achieve optimal oral health, educating them about proper at-home care, and cleaning their smile so that it’s healthy and able to last a lifetime. She says the interactions she has with people, getting to know them personally, and watching how excited they are with their teeth after a cleaning make her job special. Laura will tell you that the Midtown Dental team is unique because it feels like you’re part of a big family who works so well together as a team to help make sure patients’ needs are always met. Laura is dedicated, a team player, reliable, creative, and fun. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling to new places, exercising, reading, and watching movies.
Raquel received her bachelor of arts in communications and media arts from Georgia Southwestern State University. She loves working with people and says she’s always wanted to work in dentistry and thought Midtown Dental seemed like an excellent place to start. She was drawn to the office because of how well the team works together and that they’re able to laugh even when everyone is very busy. You can usually find Raquel helping our new patients get their appointments scheduled, helping them become acquainted with the office, and making sure existing patients get connected with the right person. Raquel says the office is unique because of the way Dr. Nerestant always does what’s best for his patients and his employees – no matter what. Raquel is happy, hardworking, loyal, competitive, and silly. She’s extremely interested in pursuing a career in photography and cinematography, specifically as a director. Raquel also loves playing soccer, hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors, making short films, performing in community theater, and helping raise funds for the FrediDance project.
LaTrice attended Valencia Community College and Orlando Vo-Tech, earning her dental assistant and expanded duties credentials. But she didn’t stop there. She also attended Strayer University to learn more about criminal justice, the Career Training Institute for cosmetology training, and Southern Technical for training as a phlebotomist. With over two decades of experience working in dentistry, LaTrice says her big heart makes her always want to help people which is precisely what she does as a dental assistant. She works hard to help the doctors and team and goes out of her way to make sure patients feel comfortable and happy about their smile. If she wasn’t working in dentistry, LaTrice says you’d probably find her investigating crime scenes or owning her a hair salon. You’ll see that LaTrice is loyal, trustworthy, dedicated, caring, and a real team player. She enjoys volunteering, giving free haircuts at homeless shelters and back to school events. LaTrice is usually spending quality time with her family and doing hair when she’s not busy at work.
Alex has training from Polk State College decided to join the Midtown Dental team after she fell in love with dentistry. She loves helping patients get the hygiene care they need by ensuring the hygiene schedule runs smoothly. Alex says Midtown Dental is unique in every way right down to the team and the way they’re trained to care for every patient in the best possible way every day. Alex is ambitious, considerate, fair, loyal, and spontaneous. When she’s not helping out around the office, you’ll most likely find Alex enjoying quality time with family and friends.
Alicia has training from the Concorde Career Institute and Valencia College. She currently serves as a dental assistant to Dr. Nerestant and does whatever she can to help out her fellow team members around the office to ensure the very best patient experience and care. Alicia says she loves being a magic maker for patients and providing them with high-quality work. She loves showing people how important it is to take care of their smile. Alicia says if she wasn’t working in dentistry she might have pursued a career working alongside a plastic surgeon. Alicia is brave, honest, caring, funny, and a good listener. She loves shopping, spending time with her husband, and hanging out in downtown Orlando. Alicia also has a beloved pet Sun Conure, a beautifully-colored parakeet whose name is Sunny. He loves being loud, hanging out on people’s shoulders, and being friendly (if he likes you).
Maribel earned her dental assistant credentials from Erwin Technical College in Tampa. She has post-graduate experience and training with phlebotomy, Botox, fillers, and facial aesthetics. Maribel has nearly two decades of experience working in dental health care. You’ll see her helping out with various procedures, setting up and breaking down the operatories, and coordinator treatments with patients. Maribel says one of the very best things about her job is that she really helps people, gets them out of pain, and soothes their dental anxieties. She loves changing fear into happiness for being at the dentist. She chose a career as a dental assistant because she loves to smile, knows how important it is to have healthy teeth, and because she enjoys making a difference in people’s lives. Maribel is fun, positive, outgoing, a hard worker, and a loving person. She does outreach work, spends time with her Midtown Dental family, enjoys being with her extended family at home, draws, cooks, reads, and is a social butterfly outside of the office.
New patients love Jennifer. She’s usually hard at work scheduling new patient visits, compiling new patient packets, and putting together new patient goodie bags. She says the people she meets every day and the team that help support her in the office are what makes her job so unique. If she wasn’t part of the Midtown Dental family, Jennifer said she probably would have a career working with animals or doing wildlife conservation. She says the fact that her fellow team members are so supportive, kind, caring, and will do anything they can to help someone makes Midtown Dental an extraordinary place to work. Jennifer is organized, patient, and quiet. She loves volunteering with and attending community theater and going to Disney when she’s not working.
Jessica loves working in health care and dentistry in particular because patient care warms her heart. When you come to the office for an examination, Jessica can answer your questions, help you better understand your personalized treatment plan, and arrange an affordable way for you to pay for your dental care. If she wasn’t helping patients at Midtown Dental every day, Jessica says she’s probably head back to class to pursue a degree in criminal justice. She loves being a part of the Midtown Dental family because patients always come first, everyone works well together, and it’s highly organized. Jessica is quiet, friendly, outgoing, caring, and lovable. She enjoys taking care of and having fun with her two children outside of the office.
Eliana loves scheduling new patients for their appointments and is always eager to help. She can answer any questions you have about coming to the office for a visit and who you’ll need to see. Ask Eliana what she loves best about her job, and she’ll tell you it’s the genuine people she works with, the work hours, and working with Dr. N. Eliana chose dentistry because she was looking for something different for a career and wanted to work in a place that specializes in helping people. She’s nice, kind, friendly, understanding, and positive. Eliana says she loves her family and kids. They like to go out together and explore new places whenever they get a chance. She’s a big believer in the power of positivity.
Isabel attended both Traviss Technical College and Polk State College. She says the best part about being a dental assistant is meeting new people, especially when they’re afraid of going to the dentist. She loves to help people overcome their anxiety, take care of their smile, and feel more confident. When she became part of the Midtown Dental team, she quickly felt like she was part of the family and enjoys working with such a diverse team. Isabel is reliable, quiet, and relaxed. Her favorite quote is, “the only impossible journey is the one you never begin,” by Anthony Robbins. Isabel was born in Haiti but raised in Florida. When she’s not in school or working, Isabel is usually spending quality time with her family.
Kela attended Concorde Career College and has certification in safe sedation. She’s been working in dentistry since 2002. As a dental assistant, Kela feels most rewarded when she can really help someone and their smile. She loves seeing how a patient’s self-confidence can change from having their teeth well taken care of. Kela is ambitious, cheerful, diligent, devoted, and efficient. She loves attending church and enjoying life alongside her friends and family when she’s not working at Midtown Dental.
Danielle is another one of our front office superheroes who really loves helping new patients get started with their dental health journey. She’s usually busy scheduling appointments, answering phones, and transferring calls. She chose Midtown Dental and a career in dentistry because of the people and a chance to advance her career. Danielle loves how everyone in the office is like a big extended family and how quickly they make people feel at ease. If she wasn’t working with us, Danielle says she’d probably still be a manager at McDonald’s. Danielle is funny, kind, shy, wholehearted, and energetic. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of her pets, enjoying good food, and getting caught up on some sleep.
